The Air Ambulance of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Qassim region responded to a report received by the Operations Control Room regarding a vehicle rollover accident involving two individuals, one of whom was trapped, in the Al-Awshaziyah area near Unaizah Governorate, south of Al Qassim.
In coordination with all relevant authorities to secure a safe landing site, the air ambulance was dispatched due to the difficulty and inaccessibility of ambulances reaching the accident location, which is situated in a muddy salt flat, following heavy rainfall in the area.
Both cases were promptly attended to. The patient in moderate condition was transported to Buraidah Central Hospital via the Saudi Red Crescent air ambulance, while the other patient with minor injuries was transferred by the East Unaizah ambulance team to King Saud Hospital in Unaizah for further treatment.
The Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent branch in Qassim, Mr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Khudhur, stated that the rapid response of the air ambulance represents a qualitative success positively impacting the patients’ lives and health by reducing response time and providing essential emergency medical services.
He also confirmed that both air and ground ambulance services are provided anywhere in the region based on reports received by the Operations Control Room, which accepts emergency calls through the unified number 997 or the "Asefni" app on smart devices 24/7.
Mr. Al-Khudhur emphasized the importance of cooperating with instructions issued by relevant authorities during rainy weather and climate fluctuations to help reduce injuries.
