As part of ongoing efforts to enhance workplace readiness for emergency situations, a drill plan was executed at the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) headquarters in the Al-Baha region. This comes under the “Moa'ath” project, which aims to raise the level of emergency medical safety within work environments.
This drill follows a series of training sessions organized to teach employees how to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and master basic first aid techniques, ensuring an effective and rapid response to emergencies that may occur at work sites.
The “Muadh” project was launched following a tragic incident at the Riyadh Digital City, where an employee named Muadh suffered a sudden cardiac arrest leading to his death during work. This incident highlighted the critical importance of providing AED devices and training on their use at workplaces.
The project aims to promote a culture of emergency medical safety and protect lives by training employees on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), handling choking and bleeding cases, as well as the proper use of defibrillators. It also includes the provision of medical equipment and first aid kits at work locations, designated ambulance parking, and installing signage to facilitate quick access to emergency services.
The execution of this drill plan in Al-Baha marks a pivotal step toward achieving the objectives of the “Moa'ath” project by spreading awareness of first aid skills and improving medical readiness within workplaces, thereby enhancing employee safety and protection during emergencies.
