The emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah region successfully restored the pulse of an Egyptian pilgrim in her seventies who lost consciousness and suffered cardiac arrest while performing Tawaf in the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Umrah rituals.
The Authority confirmed that the Command and Control Center received a report at 5:27 AM about an unconscious pilgrim in the Tawaf area.
The emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the patient’s location, where it was confirmed that she had stopped breathing and her heart had stopped. Following the approved protocol for such cases,
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated using the automated external defibrillator (AED) available in the mosque as part of the "And whoever saves it" initiative.
The teams continued CPR using a LUCAS device until the patient’s pulse was successfully restored, praise be to God. She was then transferred to a medical facility for further monitoring and necessary care.
