The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Najran Region received 12,963 emergency reports throughout the year 2024.

The Authority explained that the reports varied between traffic accidents, medical cases, respiratory crises, and other incidents. The ambulance teams handled them with specialized personnel and vehicles equipped with the latest necessary equipment. Medical cases accounted for the highest percentage with 11,243 cases, while traffic accidents totaled 1,720 cases, of which 31 were transported by air ambulance.

The Director of SRCA’s branch in Najran, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Asiri, stated that the Authority in the region has an ambulance fleet equipped with the latest emergency technologies to confront various emergency cases and crises, in addition to ambulances and four-wheel-drive vehicles. He pointed out that emergency

service requests can be made through the number 997 or the “Asefni” app, which allows users to create a report, call for an ambulance team, send a distress call, track the status of the report, and pinpoint the caller’s location. The app also displays nearby health facilities, emergency numbers, and other relief agencies.
