In preparation for the expected rainfall and changing weather conditions in the Al-Jouf region, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has announced the elevation of readiness levels for its ambulance teams and field command units, under the directives of the Regional Director, Dr. Mamdouh bin Nahi Al-Ruwaili.
Dr. Al-Ruwaili explained that the response plan includes the deployment of 14 ambulance teams, two critical care teams, one air ambulance unit, and one team designated for remote areas. Additional support teams are also on standby to address any emerging needs, ensuring rapid response to emergency situations resulting from the weather conditions.
He emphasized the importance of caution among citizens and residents, urging them to follow safety guidelines—such as reducing speed while driving to avoid skidding, and avoiding low-lying areas and locations where water accumulates—to protect their safety and that of others.
Dr. Al-Ruwaili also encouraged the public to contact the Red Crescent through the emergency number (997) should ambulance services be needed, to ensure quick access and the timely provision of necessary support.
These preparations reflect the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s commitment to maintaining high levels of emergency readiness, supporting public safety, and ensuring the continuity of ambulance services under all conditions.
