


The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Najran region received a total of 1,174 emergency reports during the month of December 2024.
The Authority stated that the reports included a variety of cases such as traffic accidents, medical emergencies, respiratory crises, and other incidents. These were handled by specialized medical teams using fully equipped and advanced ambulance vehicles.
It noted that medical emergencies accounted for the majority of the reports, with 1,028 cases, while traffic accidents totaled 146 cases. Additionally, 8 cases were transported via air ambulance. The Training and Community Awareness Department also held 14 medical courses and 26 lectures, benefiting a total of 3,158 trainees and participants.
Mohammed bin Ali Al-Asiri, Director General of the branch, emphasized that emergency services can be requested by calling 997 or through the “Asafny” app. The app allows users to create emergency reports, summon an ambulance team, send distress signals, track the status and location of a report, as well as view nearby healthcare facilities, emergency numbers, and other relief organizations.
He also noted that the Najran region includes 17 ambulance centers operating around the clock, staffed by paramedics and emergency medical specialists.
