The emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Asir region responded to 71,804 emergency calls during the past year, 2024, according to the annual statistics published today.
The report showed that the cases varied between medical emergencies, accidents, and other types, which were handled by specialized personnel and equipped vehicles outfitted with the latest technologies to provide comprehensive ambulance services.
The Khamis Mushait sector recorded the highest number of calls, with 20,556 reports, followed by the Abha sector with 14,510 reports, and the Tihama sector with 7,442 reports.
The Saudi Red Crescent branch in the Asir region includes 41 fully equipped ambulance centers staffed with medical teams comprising doctors, specialists, and emergency medical technicians.
The Authority aims to reduce response times by raising awareness among drivers about yielding to emergency vehicles and avoiding crowding, which can hinder the work of ambulance teams and delay their arrival at incident sites. It also emphasizes the importance of not following ambulance vehicles during transport or emergency response.
