The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Qassim Region announced the raising of its readiness in preparation for the expected weather conditions in the region, along with preparations to deal with weather changes within the cities, governorates, and on highways. This is to provide high-quality medical and emergency services, with a keen focus on the safety of the region’s residents and visitors.
The Director General of the Authority’s branch in Qassim Region, Khalid bin Saleh Al-Khodr, confirmed the branch’s readiness through 30 ambulance centers. Additionally, 33 emergency teams have been equipped to operate around the clock, with 15 teams stationed at 15 hot spots. The fleet includes 57 ambulances and 4-wheel drive vehicles for rugged and desert areas, all equipped with the latest advanced devices to handle all emergency cases. These teams are staffed with specialists, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics to ensure the best emergency services and uphold the principle of safety first.
Al-Khodr urged all citizens and residents to follow the instructions issued by the competent authorities during the rainy weather affecting the region and to exercise caution and vigilance during these weather fluctuations, especially during heavy rains. He emphasized avoiding dangerous areas such as flood channels and rainwater accumulations, and refraining from gathering around these places.
He also called for giving way to emergency teams to enable them to provide medical services efficiently to those in need.
It is worth noting that emergency services are available through the emergency number 997, the “Es’afni” (Help Me) app, or the distress call feature via the “Tawakkalna” app on smart devices.
